Say hello to Simon the Sloth!
Following in the footsteps of Cedric, Benji, Jingles, Ellie, Monty, and Gerry, we are excited to introduce Simon the Sloth – a new plush teddy that is available to purchase in all Tesco stores nationwide. Made from 100% recycled materials, Simon the Sloth is on sale for €5, with all proceeds donated to Children’s Health Foundation to support sick children and their families.
Last year, we received a letter from Oisin in Wicklow explaining how the Tesco Christmas Teddy meant so much to him. His great-aunt gave him Cedric the Bear in 2018, and Cedric became a treasured friend of Oisin’s. Cedric accompanied Oisín to bed every night and even snuck into his school bag to help Oisin to be brave in school.
Oisín wanted other children to have the comfort Cedric brought him. So, he created his own teddy – Simon the Sloth!
Simon is on sale in Tesco stores across the country, making Oisin’s dream of bringing joy to children across Ireland a reality. Not only that, but the proceeds from Simon will also go towards buying lifesaving equipment to help sick children and their families in hospital.

Since 2014, Tesco Ireland has partnered with Children’s Health Foundation raising over €10 million for sick children and their families. All funding has been used to purchase vital medical equipment to help treat Ireland’s sick children.
