About the new children's hospital
Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) was established on 1 January 2019 and saw Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital and paediatric services at Tallaght University Hospital come together and integrate into one organisation (CHI) to deliver healthcare to Ireland’s children, in preparation for the opening of the new children’s hospital. CHI also includes the new urgent care centres in Connolly and Children’s Outpatient and Emergency Care Unit in Tallaght.
The new children’s hospital located on a shared campus with St. James’s Hospital will bring together the three existing children’s hospitals in a modern state-of-the-art designed building to deliver the best care and treatments for Ireland’s sickest children, adolescents and young people.
