Rob Kearney's 'Kearney for Crumlin' event in the Mansion house raises vital funds for sick children
Denise Fitzgerald, Chief Executive Officer, Children’s Health Foundation was at the event on Saturday and tells us more about Rob Kearney’s long term role as ambassador of Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin;
“It was my great honour to join our dear friend Rob Kearney in the Round Room at the Mansion House on Saturday for the ‘Kearney for Crumlin’ special night of celebration – looking back over his stellar rugby career and also celebrating his long-term role as Ambassador of Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, spanning more than a decade.
In that time, Rob has made a huge contribution to our hospital community and has had a real and lasting positive impact on so many children from all over Ireland. Rob has raised vital funds for the hospital and supported many of our fundraising activities, raising awareness and much-needed donations.
He has brought joy and smiles to young faces and to frontline teams by visiting the wards and during the difficult and challenging times faced during the height of the COVID pandemic, Rob came to visit and kick off the festive season by lighting Crumlin’s Christmas tree.
All this, and so much more besides, is why Rob is considered such a good friend and a core part of our hospital community. That’s why I was so delighted to have the opportunity to present Rob with a small token of our appreciation, on behalf of all the staff, families and patients in Crumlin, to say thank you so much for your kindness and support.
The funds raised on the night will enable us to purchase two ultrasounds for Crumlin hospital that will benefit so many sick children. Thank you to each and every person who attended on Saturday evening and our most heartfelt gratitude to you Rob for being such a great friend to sick children.”
