The Dubs bring smiles and the Sam Maguire to Children’s Health Ireland!
Children’s Health Foundation and Children’s Health Ireland were delighted to welcome the victorious Dublin GAA Senior Football Team to both Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street and Crumlin on Monday 31st July to celebrate their All-Ireland Victory. Dessie Farrell and 13 of the victorious team along with the famous Sam Maguire trophy spent the day talking to some of our littlest patients, their families and our wonderful CHI staff having their photos taken and creating special memories for them and their families.
Michael Fitzsimons who is a trained medical professional who worked in Crumlin in 2021 said: “I think it’s a great tradition, something before we won an all Ireland we would have seen happening and we’re only delighted to get the opportunity to continue it on today. You can just see how much it means to the patients and staff. I worked in Crumlin in 2021 with the orthopaedic team here so it’s great to get to chat to some of the team I previously worked with and see their care for the patients and to get to see them is just fantastic!”
Talking on the day Brian Howard said: “It’s amazing, it’s special to be able to treasure the days and come here especially. They’ve gone through a lot especially the families and the kids so it’s always good to give them a bit of a lift and it give us a great lift as well. It’s one of the highlights of the year.”
Thank you so much to Dublin GAA for visiting and helping to bring smiles to hundreds of little faces and a huge congratulations again on your win!
