For lots of people who host a Trick or Treat party, the planning is definitely the most exciting bit. But to get you started, here are our top tips to get your party hopping this year!
Sign up for your exclusive party pack!
- Get your date in the diary – Halloween is a busy time of year. Schools and creches might like to have their party on the last day of term while Halloween itself might suit homes and communities better. Just make sure that you let everyone know when the best Halloween party is happening and how they can get involved.
- Everything is easier when you have a team to help. Be sure to involve your friends, family and colleagues in the party planning process.
- Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for our Downloadable Monster Mash including our party invites and so much more. If you don’t have a printer, ask a friend to help you out.
- Trick or Treat is about having fun, but it’s also about raising funds to help purchase life-saving equipment and supports for all our sick children who may not be able to have such fun. Please make sure that you encourage all your Monster Gathering to add their donation to your collection box or online fundraising page. However you do it, please just share the link.
- Upload your photos, tag our social pages and don't forget to hashtag #TrickorTreat24. Please make sure you have the permission of everyone in the photo. Remember, some people don’t like to share images of themselves or their children on social media so be respectful.
- Finally, enjoy yourself! You are doing a wonderful thing for all our little heroes in Children's Health Ireland at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly, so we want you to make sure that you have a wonderful time.
Meet Méabh
Méabh was a perfectly healthy little girl. She met all her milestones, was very active, and never complained of a pain or an ache. However, she did have a bump on the top of her head that didn’t feel right to touch. The bump was first noticed when she was a year old, and her doctors initially felt that it was just the shape of her head and nothing to worry about.
However, her parents had a gut feeling that it didn’t feel right. During a routine developmental check for her little brother, Séan, and little sister, Sadhbh, an X-ray revealed something abnormal.
